I am the Environmental Specialist at Southwest Engineering and Design (SED), a civil engineering firm based in Punta Gorda. Our team brings together more than 200 years of combined local and regional expertise, allowing us to effectively tackle challenges and deliver practical, “real-world” solutions. SED has earned a strong reputation for providing quality, cost-effective services that distinguish us from other firms. We offer comprehensive services ranging from initial planning, zoning, and feasibility studies to design and construction, and we work closely with clients to ensure compliance with local land-use regulations—whether for straightforward site plans or complex civil engineering projects.

In my role at SED, I conduct protected species assessments, wetland delineations and assessments, wetland mitigation monitoring and management, as well as protected species permitting and relocations. My position allows me to spend time both in the office and out in the field, with a strong focus on Phase I environmental processes to ensure that all county and federal regulations are met for each project.

I am excited for the opportunity to serve as Next Gen’s Mentor and Community Outreach Coordinator and to take a more active role in this outstanding organization that supports and empowers the next generation of leaders in our industry.”
