Temporary Housing Residents Urged to Evacuate
CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Sept. 24, 2024) – As Tropical Storm Helene moves toward Florida, we urge all residents living in temporary housing units to evacuate as a precaution.
Here are a few tips for those in temporary housing units to follow during severe weather:
- Do not move, unstrap, or unblock travel trailers.
- Have multiple ways to monitor and receive weather alerts.
- Follow guidance from local county emergency management officials.
- Establish an evacuation route ahead of time.
- Evacuate with essential personal property and pets.
- Don’t wait. Leave immediately when local officials order you to do so.
